Description
Phototransferred thermoluminescence (PTTL) is a different type of thermoluminescence (TL) that offers the opportunity to investigate the interaction of charge traps by optical stimulation of charge. We hereby present blue light stimulated PTTL of CaGa2O4:Pr3+ synthesized by the solution combustion technique. The TL glow curve of CaGa2O4:Pr3+ exposed to 10 Gy and heated to 500 oC at 1oC/s shows five peaks at 82 oC, 115 oC, 175 oC, 200 oC, and 265 oC. The electron traps related to the peaks at 82 oC reappeared as a PTTL peak after emptying it by thermal cleaning. Pulse annealing analysis shows all PTTL peaks as acceptors of electrons from their successful traps. PTTL measured for preheating temperatures from 500 to 650 oC indicated the presence of a very deep electron trap around 610 oC. The effect of illumination time on PTTL is also presented. Control studies without illumination shows no peak reappearance after it is cleared by preheating.
